Now this looks like a wallpapered wall doesn’t it?  Wall paper costs can get very pricey so why not try the DIY approach.  Paint your wall a darker grey tint and simply using a stencil and metallic paint to create a pattern. This space is definitely one of my favorites.
Accent walls don’t always have to stay focused on bedrooms and living spaces.  Why not be original and bring it into a kitchen.  I recently used Chalkboard paint in a cottage project.  While contributing to the rustic feel of the space this can be fun and allow family members to write down the menu for the week or include funny drawings or quotes.
Built in shelving units that frame a fireplace always change the look of a room.  How about painting the back wall of the shelves to tie in with your overall color scheme.  This adds the perfect amount of interest to this space.
