The Miller Family

The Miller’s

Lot 17 Yvonne Family

The Miller family is close to home for Sunlight Heritage Homes.  As Mr. Miller works for Sunlight on site alongside our site supervisor, Chris.  When they decided they wanted to build a brand new home, no other builder came to his mind of course.  With Mr. Miller on the inside he sees everyday on site the craftsmanship that we put into our quality homes everyday.

When we asked how they decided on the ‘Iris Model’.  Functionality was the main word she used.  They loved how everything was open concept and the perfect layout for entertaining.  It wasn’t too big and the perfect size for their starter home.  They loved the large ensuite washroom and double sided walk in closet.

“We loved that we could work with Philip to customize the kitchen to include a walk in pantry and more cabinet space. After considering all the options, it was the perfect layout at the best price. We’re most excited to be first time homeowners and to see our home coming together from the ground up. It’s exciting to know that every little detail has included us so the house will really reflect our tastes”. –Sapphire

When it came to the day of their color selection.  The appointment went wonderfully as Mrs. Miller came into the appointment with ideas of what she already had envisioned for their home.  This is something at Sunlight Homes that we highly recommend future homeowners to do.  That way in the end you will get exactly what you came in hoping for.

For the exterior they chose one of our most popular boards, blue/grey with accents of black which looks extremely sharp on any of our models.

The same color scheme continued indoors, with a white and bright kitchen and paint kept grey neutral.

Thank you so much Scott and Sapphire we couldn’t be more excited for you both and this new journey in your lives.  Welcome to the Sunlight Family 🙂

Your guide to fool-proof and stylish window covering

Are you paranoid about people peeking into your house and your life? Or do you want people to see your better side?

Either ways, you can’t be sloppy when it’s about your windows. But buying the wrong covering will make it worse. To help you, here are some tips.

  1. White for a bright view: If you are an optimist with a bright countenance, then white is the color for you. Let the people see the real, happy you.
  2. Panels to stun: Want to go for something different? Try paneling. Not only will it keep your life private from others, you will get to view some cool and stunning art work on your walls.
  3. Messages to yourself: Are you in for some quirkiness? Get curtains with funny and encouraging captions and phrases to keep up your spirits.
  4. Double protection: Use curtains and blinds for adjusting the amount of light getting into your room and protecting yourself from the heat at the same time. Let them work together for what you might prefer.

Ideas For Your Own Personal Green Meadow.

Are you tired of your garden not looking satisfactory enough in spite of all the measures you took? Then it means you are not doing it right. But, why settle for just a garden, when you can get your own personally green-landscaped Grassland.

‘Green landscaping’, also known as sustainable or eco-friendly landscaping, is a method of designing and maintaining your own garden in ways that are time-saving and cost-friendly

Here are the steps to get it right with the green landscaping.

  1. Get the right plants: If it’s about designing your own garden, don’t forget the plants. Try native plants, since these will grow and adapt to the environment without dying out or choking other plants.
  2. Water properly: Even when you are watering, be careful. Daily watering in summer will not give good results. Plants have their own form of hibernation. When watering them, make sure the water reaches the roots.
  3. Avoid chemicals: If you seek the perfect greenery, then ditch the chemical fertilizers. Use compost and other organic fertilizers for the plants’ growth.
  4. No fuel emissions: Lawn mowers, and snow blowers are actually responsible for half of the pollution plaguing the area. Try not to spill gasoline anywhere near you, since it will make matters worse. When mowing the lawn, use reel push mowers and hand tools.
  5. Don’t waste anything: You don’t have to necessarily strip your garden of its present condition to get the ‘green’ look. Making some changes is more than enough. If there are any withered twigs and leaves lying around, use them to make your own compost. When buying mulch, get it in bulk amount to avoid disposing off extra plastic bags. Recycle the garden pots when necessary, and make it a point to share the large gardening tools in your possession with the neighbors.
